“When my friend from work first suggested we go I agreed in a heartbeat, how could anyone turn down what promised to be an evening of relaxation and meditation with plenty of cushions, pillows and blankets. The evening was hosted by a ‘gong master’ called Gordon Coxon, who after a very brief introduction instructed us to close our eyes, take three deep breaths, and then he began. The next hour was strange, but in a really good way. The combination of the way he used the gongs felt powerful, relaxing, and all at once and on their own. It was weird, but good.
At one point I could feel the vibrations from the gongs closer to me, almost over my body, which was a very strange sensation, and again very powerful. The hour seemed to pass quickly, and before I knew it we were being told to take three deep breaths again, and then slowly allow ourselves to come back into the present. After the session Gordon talked through the different gongs he used, the different emotions that each gong could evoke in people, and showed us how he created all the different sounds. I left feeling deeply relaxed and light, ready for bed. That night I had the best, deepest sleep I’ve had in a long time, and woke up the next morning at 5.45am wide awake and ready for the day.” - ***Emma – Stripes and Snapshots |
Product Launches
The soothing, ambient sounds of the gong can be a welcome feature for all manner of product launches. A recent example in London was Gordon's involvement with the media launch of a new organic tea range for the health food group Pukka, playing short gong baths at the event to support Pukka's Night Time brand.
